About Us:

The Transylvania County Workforce Housing Coalition was conceived as a result of a housing summit held in April of 2007. Over 100 people attended the summit and, five committees were formed.

The committees are working diligently to find land, contractors, financers, and government officials that can bring it altogether for our workforce that desperately needs suitable housing.

There are approximately 60 volunteers serving on the committees and one part time paid staff funded through the United Way.

At the present time the coalition is looking into the development of a land trust that will provide a means to building affordable homes.
